GCSE Spanish Trip

Posted on: 27/03/2023

On Friday 3rd March, 40 Spanish GCSE students from Years 9 and 10 went to Andalucía in Spain for a four day residential trip. They visited famous landmarks such as La Giralda in Seville and La Alhambra in Granada. Over the four days, students had the chance to practise Spanish in real life, ordering food and talking to locals.

We learnt that a horse is definitely “un caballo” and not “una cebolla” (an onion!) and that if we want to order some onion rings we ask for “aritos” and not “arroz” (rice). Everywhere we went we were thanked for the amazing behaviour of our students and their impressive manners. The hotel staff commented that we were the most well-behaved school that they had accommodated.

“Going to Spain was one of the best experiences ever! We got to go and explore some beautiful towns and make amazing memories that will stay with me for rest of my life”                                                                                                                                  Jasmine – Year 10

“I was lucky enough to be able to go on the Spain trip to Andalucía. The four day trip included a visit to the beach, a cathedral and a palace. We were fortunate that the weather was nice and sunny, which made the beach more enjoyable. The whole trip, including travelling by aeroplane was well organised. I had a really good time, it was so much fun and I made lots of memories"       Anjali Year – 9
