A-level Biology in Action trip

Posted on: 20/03/2023

On Tuesday 14th March, 20 of our Year 12 A Level biologists had the opportunity to attend a trip to the Emmanuelle Centre, where they had the opportunity to listen to experts from various biological careers.

Sessions included how gene editing has given scientists the ability to change the DNA of organisms, life beyond the planet, an insight into what it takes to be a doctor, why plants are called 'nature's super survivors’ and how advances in genetics have made de-extinction a reality.

Students were very engaged and asked insightful questions; they particularly found the exam skills session useful to help them succeed in future examinations.
