Meet Mr Bremner, Deputy Headteacher Achievement & Evaluation

Posted on: 31/10/2022

I was delighted to join Nower Hill in September as Deputy Headteacher with responsibility for Achievement and Evaluation, and have been hugely impressed by the warm, welcoming and purposeful feeling around the school.

My role is to ensure that all students have an exceptional experience at Nower Hill and achieve our aim of becoming highly literate, articulate, numerate, resilient and confident students who are equipped with the ambition, qualities and qualifications necessary to compete in the 21st century global economy.

To do this, I will be working with our teachers, students and parents to make sure that students from all backgrounds achieve the very best grades possible and develop their cultural capital by taking part in extracurricular activities, applying for leadership opportunities and participating in learning beyond the classroom through school trips and wider educational experiences. I am particularly passionate about making sure that groups which do not achieve as well as others nationally or traditionally, take part in wider educational opportunities do so at Nower Hill.

I look forward to getting regular feedback from students and parents to find out what we can do to remove the barriers to success for young people and develop what we offer as a school even further. I will also be working with our teachers to make sure that we have clear systems to identify the very best practice in our classrooms and have opportunities to share ideas and keep learning and improving.

Outside of school, I am a season ticket holder at Watford Football Club, a rugby coach, school Governor, Parish Councillor and I have two sons, aged two and five.
