The Salters' Institute Annual Awards Ceremony

Posted on: 06/12/2022

Last year, some of our fantastic students, currently in Years 9 and 10, were involved in a virtual ‘Chemistry Club’, run by the Salters’ Institute. Students had the opportunity to understand real life applications of chemistry and learn about cutting edge research and ideas. Concepts they learnt about included the chemistry of makeup, medicines, emotions and the environment, allowing them to enhance, extend and enrich their understanding.

Three of our current Year 10 students have truly excelled in Chemistry Club, a platform that had 2,000 students registered worldwide. To celebrate their achievements, Khushi, Hana and Anoushka were invited to attend an award ceremony at the Salters' Hall on Friday 2nd December to receive their certificates. They also took part in professionally recorded interviews, heard a lecture from keynote speaker Dr Asel Sartbaeva on 'Thermal Stabilisation of Biopharmaceuticals' and were treated to a buffet lunch.

Our students were the youngest award winners at the event, sitting in a room of researchers, educators, graduates and selective school students. They did us and themselves proud. A massive well done to all of them!
