World Book Day

Posted on: 23/04/2018

Following a highly successful event last year, staff and students at Nower Hill High School embraced the 21st World Book Day as a further celebration of authors, illustrators, books and reading.

On Thursday 1st March, in the cold snowy conditions, Year 7 students were determind to  dress up as characters from their favourite reads.

All students were encouraged to explore the pleasures of books and reading by receiving a brand new free book, entering a competition to guess which character or book their teachers costume represented and by taking part in a Library ‘Booky’ Quiz to win a book of their choice.

The event was complemented with a lunchtime book fair with all proceeds donated to Nower Hill High School’s partner school St Marcellin’s in Zimbabwe.
