Nower Hill High School Welcomes Year 7 Students

Posted on: 23/09/2020

After their brilliant first day at secondary school on Friday 4th September, we had high hopes and expectations for our Year 7's for their first week of school and they didn’t disappoint! We have been really impressed with their maturity and getting used to our new one-way system to and from lessons. They have enjoyed a variety of different lessons such as Maths, English, PRE, French, Art and Drama. We have been very proud of the wonderful start they have made and how they have fitted so well in to, ‘The Nower Hill Way’.

To give our Year 7 students the opportunity to make new friends and socialise in their new form groups, we held the Year 7 Fun Event on Friday 18th September. The event started on the All Weather Field where the students participated in lots of different team building activities within their form groups such as Hula Hoop Rock Paper and Scissors, Crossbar Challenge, Kick-It Wicket. The students very much enjoyed the activities and the opportunity to socialise after what can only be described as a different end to their time at primary school.

After the activities, the Year 7 students came over to the lower playground where they enjoyed a music concert from our fantastic Year 12 Band – Maple Syrup. Students also enjoyed pizza, drinks and finishing off leaving school with a big smile and ice-cream!

We look forward to a fantastic year with our new Year 7 cohort as they get used secondary school routines and expectations, and wish them a continued excellent first term at Nower Hill!
