Remote Learning

Nower Hill is committed to ensuring that every child can access learning which will enable them to continue to make progress through the current pandemic.

What to expect if your child is self isolating

If your child is self isolating then they will be able to access their classwork through google classroom and their homework through show my homework.  Teachers will be putting the classwork for students up on Google classroom at the end of each day.  As a result the work will be available to students from the start of the following day.

Students should submit their work to their teachers online where possible.  For some work this will not be possible and students should keep hold of their work and bring it into lessons with them when they return after.  They can seek guidance through google classroom comments, however, teaching staff will be teaching in school and ask you to be patient regarding their response.  If it is urgent please email or

What to expect if your child is told they are now working remotely.

If your child is sent home as part of a whole class, year group or the whole school, due to government advice or as a result of positive cases of COVID-19 they will learn remotely.  You will be contacted directly via email if this should occur.

If your child is in years 7-13 then they will follow their usual two week timetable and will be notified of classwork through google classrooms and homework through Satchelone.  All live lessons will be conducted through Google meet according to their timetable and they should be present at each live lesson

All live lessons will be recorded and be made accessible to students. However, it is very important that they attend these sessions as they will benefit from live interaction with their teachers, where they will be able to ask questions using the messaging function on Google meet.  Attendance will be recorded.

If a member of staff is unwell and unable to provide a live lesson cover work will be set on the google classroom stream and students are expected to submit the work at the end of the lesson.

The ladder of consequence and ladder of rewards will still be implemented and parents will be informed of conduct points through the sims parent app.  If you have not yet downloaded this app, Please email for further assistance, and you will be redirected accordingly.

If your child is ill whilst they are learning from home you must inform the school so that we are aware that they will not be attending live sessions or completing home learning.  You can inform us of their illness by emailing

If the students experience any problems whilst learning from home please contact the school using the following e-mail address
