GCSE Results 2025 – A Remarkable Achievement

Another week and another outstanding set of exam results for Nower Hill students! Our Year 11s have once again delivered an excellent set of outcomes at GCSE, and we are enormously proud of them. We send every one of our young people our warmest congratulations on their success.

An impressive 37% of all grades were awarded at the highest level of 9–7, marking our strongest performance in the last eight years. In addition, 85% of all grades were at 9–4, again equalling our very best outcomes in the last eight years. In English and Maths, 67% of students achieved grade 9–5 and 81% grade 9–4, ensuring that the overwhelming majority of our young people are exceptionally well-placed to progress to their next stage of education.

We are absolutely delighted that these results will allow all of our students to move forward with confidence, and we are thrilled that so many of them will be staying on to continue their studies in Nower Hill’s thriving Sixth Form.

This cohort has faced challenges that make their achievements even more impressive. Having missed their SATs at the end of primary school due to the Covid lockdowns, they entered secondary education without the usual benchmarks in place, yet they have risen magnificently to the occasion. Their determination, resilience and positivity have shone through, and the results speak for themselves.

Of course, such success is never down to students alone. Building the skills, confidence and resilience needed for excellence is very much a community effort. I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to our dedicated staff, both teachers and support staff, who work tirelessly to ensure the best possible experience for our young people. Thank you also to our parents and carers, whose encouragement and unwavering support make such a difference. And finally, thank you to the students themselves, who have shown great determination, commitment and positivity. They have once again proved that hard work really does pay off.

Each and every one of our Year 11s should be incredibly proud of what they have achieved. I hope there will be many joyous family celebrations this evening, and I wish them all the very best as they move on to the next exciting stage of their education.
