ResearchED Birmingham

Posted on: 26/02/2020

On Saturday 7 March 2020, researchED Birmingham is taking place at Nishkam High School in Birmingham.

The goal of researchED is to bridge the gap between research and practice in education. Researchers, teachers, and policy makers come together for a day of information-sharing and myth-busting.

The keynote speech at the event will be from Amanda Spielman, Her Majesty’s Chief Inspector, Ofsted.

We are delighted that Nower Hill's Tabitha McIntosh is also speaking, presenting her myth-busting work on Victorian fake news, silver bullets and Revolutionary Haiti which will be fascinating, particularly for history and English teachers.

Tabitha McIntosh is a KS5 specialist English teacher at Nower Hill High School and a research student at Birkbeck College, University of London. She has taught undergraduates at the universities of Pennsylvania and Aberdeen, and works on the circulation of racialised and racialising anecdotes and objects in Atlantic culture, presenting at conferences around the Atlantic, from Tate Britain to Port-au-Prince
