GCSE Results 2026, Creating Choice and Possibilities for All

Posted on: 20/08/2026

Another week, another joyful occasion as we celebrate an outstanding set of GCSE exam results for our Year 11 students! We are enormously proud of every single young person who collected their envelope today. On behalf of the whole Nower Hill community, we send them our warmest congratulations on their remarkable success.

Our students have maintained the extraordinarily high standards established in recent years, creating strong foundations that open doors to their future. An impressive 37% of all grades were awarded at the highest levels of 9 to 7, equalling our record outcome since the numerical grading system began and sitting well above the national average of 22%. Furthermore, 84% of all grades achieved were at 9 to 4. In English and Maths, an excellent 80% of students secured a 9 to 4 pass, with 67% achieving a grade 9 to 5 in both subjects. These achievements directly embody our vision of creating choice and possibilities for all, ensuring our young people leave us with the qualifications, confidence, and self-belief to pursue whatever pathways they imagine for themselves.

True to our values of ambitioncommitmentcreativityequity, and kindness, these brilliant young people have demonstrated what can be achieved through high aspirations and steadfast determination. Whether securing top grades, overcoming personal hurdles, or discovering new strengths, our students have shown incredible resilience and drive. We are thrilled that so many of our Year 11s will be staying on to continue their journey in Nower Hill’s thriving Sixth Form, while others step confidently into exciting new opportunities beyond our doors.

Success on this scale is always a shared endeavour. In line with our school motto, Service Not Self, building the skills, character, and confidence needed for long term excellence takes an entire community working together. My heartfelt thanks go to our dedicated staff, both teaching and support team members, who work tirelessly to ensure every student is challenged, well supported, and happy. My deepest gratitude also goes to our parents and carers, whose constant encouragement makes such a vital difference.

Above all, thank you and congratulations to our brilliant Year 11s. You have shown us that through commitment, curiosity, and drive, anything is possible. I hope you enjoy wonderful family celebrations today, and we wish you every happiness and success as you take your next exciting steps!
