Business and Finance Careers Insight Walk in the City of London

Posted on: 20/03/2019

On Monday 18th March, 17 Year 10 boys studying GCSE Business Studies visited Chartered Insurance Institute, the world's largest professional organisation dedicated to insurance and financial services.

They were introduced to the risk profession, met representatives from a variety of City insurance companies and also took part in a group competition called Discover Risk. Students were put into teams and worked together to assess the risks associated with set scenarios.

The students were then given an introduction to the city in terms of business, finance and banking, given by a leading consultant with expertise in linking education with business.  Students also participated in a trading game, which helped them gain new skills in investing, saving, communication, co-operation and decision making. Our students thoroughly enjoyed their day in the City, learning about the Business and Finance sectors. The trip has motivated them to aim high in the future and to pursue their career goals with determination.
