Last week, Year 11 played against Hatch End High school.  It was a slow start from Nower Hill which led to Hatch End being 2-0 up after the first 30 minutes. A fantastic late goal from Ethan Kasujja made it 2-1 going into half time.

In the second half, with a couple of minutes remaining, a 30 yard free kick opportunity presented itself and Brian McGovern stepped up to make a brilliant strike into the top right hand corner, forcing the teams into extra time.

In the last 2 minutes of extra time remaining, a save from the Hatch End keeper fell perfectly to Ethan’s feet. He completed his hat trick and sent Nower Hill through to the quarter finals. A thrilling game! Well done to all but particularly Ethan who was named Player of the Match.

In Year 7, Nower Hill entered two teams once again into the Whitmore 7 a-side-tournament hoping to go one step further after reaching the final of their home tournament in October. Both teams fought hard and played some excellent football under the watchful eyes of Mr Alanezi, Mr Shirwac and Mr Davidse eventually losing 2-1 in the final against Pinner High. We have one more chance in the new year to avenge our local rivals. Well done Year 7!
