Year 9 Child development

Posted on: 28/11/2022

The Year 9 Child Development students have been working hard on their book projects recently. Having learnt the importance of reading and how children (aged 2 - 5) develop the skills to read in our ‘Supporting children’s language and literature development’ unit, the students were challenged to design an appropriate type of book and write a story with a moral message. They were then asked to write a report specifying which skills their book would develop i.e. social and emotional, cognitive and intellectual, speech and language or physical and motor skills. They did incredibly well and demonstrated some fantastic creativity with their work. They also included very important themes such as diversity, mental health and gender equality.

Winners were invited to show off their work to Ms Voden. They were delighted to each receive a bookmark to reward them for all their hard work.

The winners were Amy, Zita, Salome, Eesha, Lyana and Sofia. Well done to all!
