Teaching Assistants

30 hours (5 days) per week term time only (8.15am to 3.15pm, with a one hour unpaid break).  Permanent contract at scale H2 rising to H3, starting at £19,881 per annum, which pro rata is £14,108 per annum.

Required from September 2018, enthusiastic and committed people to support and work with students within and outside of the classroom. It is desirable that applicants hold a degree qualification or equivalent but this is not essential. 

An interest in working with students with a wide range of special educational needs including emotional, social and mental health needs is essential, together with an interest in supporting second language learners.  A caring, flexible and common sense approach is important.

Excellent CPD opportunities are available in our highly regarded Inclusion faculty and many of our Teaching Assistants move on to successful teaching careers

Faculty Teaching and Learning Assistants

Required from September 2018.  Temporary contract until 24th May 2019 in the first instance.  36 hours per week term time only 8.30am - 4.45pm.  Scale H5, £22,956 pa which pro rata is £19,547 pa.

You will be responsible for supervising classes in the absence of the class teacher and for supporting the learning of students in your attached faculty.  These abilities will be assessed at interview. 

We are looking for people educated to graduate level (ideally with a Science, English or Maths specialism) with an interest in how young people learn and enthusiasm for working in a school.  Previous experience in schools is not necessary. 

This role would be particularly suitable for someone thinking of a career in teaching.  There are many and varied CPD opportunities available and previous FTLAs have successfully gained places on PGCE courses and progressed to become qualified teachers.
