STUDENT SERVICES SUPERVISOR

17 hours per week term time only, Monday and Tuesday 9.00am to 4.45pm and Wednesday 9.00am to 12.00pm.  The salary scale is H5, £9,231 per year pro rata. 

An enthusiastic and committed person with strong customer care and IT skills is required from April 2019 to support the Student Services Manager in the efficient day to day running of Student Services by deputising for her in her absence.

Excellent organisation skills and attention to detail are essential, as well as the ability to work in a busy environment and communicate well with students, staff and parents.

Student Services is an important area for the school and this role will provide the right candidate with an opportunity to assist the Student Services Manager in delivering an excellent service for students and parents and ensuring that Nower Hill remains an attractive place for study.

FACULTY TEACHING AND LEARNING ASSISTANT – SPORTS STUDIES

Temporary contract until 22nd May 2020 in the first instance.  36 hours per week term time only 8.30am - 4.45pm.  Scale H5, £22,956 pa which pro rata is £19,547 pa.

You will be responsible for supervising classes in the absence of the class teacher, both in the Sports Studies Faculty and other subject areas, and for supporting the learning of students in the Sports Studies Faculty.  These abilities will be assessed at interview. 

We are looking for people educated to graduate level with an interest in how young people learn and enthusiasm for working in a school. You should also have an enthusiasm for and an interest in Sport Studies.  Previous experience in schools is not necessary. 

This role would be particularly suitable for someone thinking of a career in teaching.  There are many and varied CPD opportunities available and previous FTLAs have successfully gained places on PGCE courses and progressed to become qualified teachers.

ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT

16.5 hours per week term time only Scale H4 (£20,667 pa which pro rata is £8066.33 pa)

Required for an immediate start, a conscientious and committed person to work in our Student Services.  Must have excellent organisational and computer skills, be able to work in a busy environment and communicate well with students, staff and parents. 

The potholder will have responsibility for specific pastoral duties, however, please note that Administrative Assistants may be asked to undertake any role in Student Services, the Main Office or in the Faculties, depending on the needs of the school.

TEACHING ASSISTANTS

30 hours (5 days) per week term time only (8.15am to 3.15pm, with a one hour unpaid break).  Permanent contract at scale H2 rising to H3, starting at £19,881 per annum, which pro rata is £14,108 per annum.

Required immediately, enthusiastic and committed people to support and work with students within and outside of the classroom. It is desirable that applicants hold a degree qualification or equivalent but this is not essential. 

An interest in working with students with a wide range of special educational needs including emotional, social and mental health needs is essential, together with an interest in supporting second language learners.  A caring, flexible and common sense approach is important.
