We are very proud of our exciting post-16 curriculum model. We have thought very carefully about our curriculum in the best interests of our students. We believe we have come up with an excellent model catering for all A-level students and enabling all our A-level students to be successful. In designing our curriculum model we wanted to make sure our students still had breadth of curriculum in Year 12 as well as being well equipped to choose the right subjects to take through from Year 12 to Year 13.
A changed landscape
All A-levels are now linear meaning no modules can be sat at the end of Year 12 that contribute towards the final A-level. The whole content is examined in terminal assessments at the end of Year 13. AS levels do not count towards the final A-level.
To help students cope with the increased amount of content in the new A-levels, we have provided students with an increased amount of teaching time. Students choose from one of the following 4 pathways:
