We believe that improving students’ cultural capital is an important part of their wider curriculum. During the school day and within lesson time, students will be exposed to a broad range of visiting speakers, however, we wanted to enhance this experience by starting a regular programme of ‘Symposia’ to bring together all ages of students, their families, teachers and the wider community.
The Nower Hill High School Symposium began in 2017 with an unforgettable speech by Gena Turgel, a holocaust survivor who spoke with clarity and emotion about her terrifying experiences as a child. We have since enjoyed intellectual and cultural stimulation from professors of Quantum Mechanics, Classics and Humanities.
You will find details of all forthcoming Symposium on the calendar, parents are always emailed an invite and students are informed in assembly and tutor time. If you wish to be placed on the email list, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
