Harrow Council Energy Saving Tips Competition

Posted on: 28/11/2018

We were delighted to hear that Iona Roglic in year 7 has won the Harrow Council Energy Saving Tips leaflet competition. The competition was open to all secondary schools in the borough to enter and was judged against strict criteria. Iona’s work was selected from over 100 entries to represent Nower Hill after shortlisting by teachers and a vote by year 12 STEM volunteers and the year 9 STEM club. Her work was then chosen as the overall winner by the Harrow Council Energy team.

Iona was invited to the Civic Centre to meet the Mayor of Harrow, who spoke about the importance of saving energy both financially and for the environment and the challenges facing the council in this area. Iona was awarded a certificate and some vouchers for her work and we were very proud to hear that the Council plans to further recognise her efforts by distributing copies of the leaflet to other schools in the borough.
