Junior Astro Challenge Competition

Posted on: 12/12/2019

In November, 28 students from Year 9 and 10 took part in the Junior Astro Challenge Competition set by the University of Oxford.

The Junior Astro Challenge competition is designed to engage and challenge students by offering them a range of Astronomy associated problems to solve.

Our students performed very well and 65% of the results were above the national average! We were also the school to enter the highest number of students nationally.

14 students achieved Bronze certificates and 11 students achieved Silver certificates. Our three students to achieve Gold were Christina (Year 10), Caiden (Year 10) and Ammar (Year 10). Ammar also achieved the joint highest result out of 847 students who competed nationally.

From Year 9, the two students who achieved the highest results were Shreya and Shagnakkiyan.

Well done to all of them for this fantastic achievement!
