STAFF CASE STUDIES

Miss Rhodes

Hi I'm Miss Rhodes and I teach Science here at Nower Hill.

Originally born up North, I moved to London just over 4 years ago from sunny Dorset, leaving behind the beaches and countryside for the bright lights and hustle and bustle of Nower Hill.

I went into teaching after university, where I volunteered at a school for boys who were trying to get back into mainstream education and loved it!

8 years down the line I get involved in lots of other things as well as teaching:

In the summer I run with a running club and scuba dive and in the winter I'm off to the ski slopes!

I'll pretty much turn my hand to anything outdoorsy, in fact.  I also get involved in charity work when I can, and volunteered one day a week last year with a homeless charity in central london.  Anything else you want to know about me..... just come and ask!

Mrs Adams

My name is Gae Adams and I am the Senior Cover Supervisor managing a team of six cover supervisors who take classes in the absence of their usual teacher.

I became a cover supervisor five years ago when the role was first introduced , previously I was a teaching assistant in Learning Development.

My career in Education started back in 2000 where I worked in a Pinner first school then on to a high school in Wembley.

This is my second career, my first being in banking. I worked for The Bank of England in the city for sixteen years before taking voluntary redundancy and having children (one here , the other was here, now at University)

I have a diploma in horticulture and ran a small gardening business with a friend when my children were small.

Mr Smith

My name is Mr. Smith and I teach Politics at Nower Hill and have done for the last 3 years. Before coming to Nower Hill I worked for the Education Unit at the Houses of Parliament. I enjoyed working with Members of Parliament and other colleagues that were focused on getting young people more involved in Politics. Before starting my working life I studied at Pinner University College (PUC).
