Nower Hill High School
PARENTS AND FRIENDS
As a member of this school community you will be invited to several events throughout the years. Come along meet other parents and teachers, enjoy yourselves knowing that you are supporting your child in their new school. You may wish to join the P&F committee or help with the setting up of an event. Whatever help you can offer will be greatly appreciated. The money we raise will go directly into the school community purchasing the additional items, which make school life that much better. This association was established in 1983 and has a long history of working alongside the school community. Our aim is to develop and improve the already excellent relationships that exist between pupil, parent/carer and teacher. The school is more than a place of learning, as a community it is a warm and welcoming environment where all are valued and encouraged to play a role.
The committee structure is as follows;
Chairperson - Mrs Rose Beri
Honorary President - Mr Howard Freed
Vice-Chairperson - Mr G Nagle
Treasurer - Mrs Pravina Hindocha
Minute Secretary - Mrs Jo Mistry
The parents and friends committee, which numbers 10 and a list of well over 30 parent volunteers, has gone from strength to strength. We aim to organise an event once a term. Ranging from a quiz night, barn dance, Christmas raffle and the very successful Bollywood Evening. There is something for all the family to try. In addition, we provide refreshments at the many evening events throughout the school year. Thanks to the support of the parents, pupils, teachers and friends this year we have contributed £2,000 to the school community. This being raised over several fundraising events. By sending your son/daughter to Nower Hill High School, you become part of the Parents and Friends and your involvement is expected at every level. Remember you get out what you put in – this is true of every community.
I look forward to meeting you at the coming events.
