Nower Hill High School
PASTORAL CARE
Outstanding pastoral care is essential to our ethos.
A Deputy Headteacher and an Assistant Headteacher lead the Pastoral Team comprising of two Year Co-ordinators for every year group each of whom leads and manages 6 form tutors and 150 pupils. Tutor group size is 25 and Year Co-ordinators and form tutors take their pupils through from Year 8 to Year 11. (and from Year 7 from September 2010).
Good attendance, punctuality, self-discipline and effective personal organisation are the keys to high levels of success and personal fulfilment. We actively seek to give our pupils a variety of responsibilities including representation on the School Council, a Y11 Prefect and Senior Student System. A daily home-school diary eases communication, enables homework to be monitored and extends co-operation in general between home and school.
