HOMEWORK
Homework:
Homework plays an important part in a pupil’s progress.
Support and encouragement from parents are most valuable. Different students work at different speeds, but the average time expected per day is a minimum of 1½ hour per day in Years 7, 8 & 9, and a minimum of 2 hour per day in Years 10 & 11.
It must be borne in mind that certain pieces of work (like project work) may demand more time. Deadline will be given for each homework set. These will be, where possible, of a suitable length to organise their homework load sensibly. If you think that your child's receiving too much or too little homework please contact the Form Tutor, Year Coordinator or Head of Faculty.
Parents -
Please check & sign your child's Daily Home -School Diary each week.
Increasingly homework will be set on line through our MLE (Managed Learning Environment). Our MLE is effectively an online school where pupils will find a wide range of resources, links to useful websites, discussion forums and homework activities organised in online classrooms. Pupils can retrieve and submit work online and they have their own personal portfolio where they can store all their electronic documents allowing them to access them in or out of school.
Homework Sessions:
The Library is open for special homework sessions on Tuesdays and Wednesdays after school until 4.45pm.
If you would like to use the facilities of the library and if you need any extra help with homework please come along.
The librarian and a teacher will be present to help you.
