OXFAM UNWRAPPED!!!
For Christmas 2010, 10CMN decided to donate money to charity instead of the usual secret Santa. The class’s charity fund jar was finally full, so we thought it would be far more beneficial to give the money to others at a time when people were in need.
We managed to raise a total of £140 for Oxfam’s Christmas organisation, a gift unwrapped.
The money was used to buy two goats, a well, health check-ups, mosquito nets and a toilet.
Most things are basic everyday necessities that we take for granted and commonly forget about, but it’s just those simple things that make such significant differences to a person’s life. As a class we learnt it was a much better feeling to give and know that you were possibly saving a life rather than receiving
something unessential.
