Senior Citizens’ Christmas Lunch

Posted on: 19/12/2018

On Tuesday 11th December, 62 elderly guests joined us for a Christmas lunch. Year 7 waited table and proved to be excellent hosts to our visitors. The choir, under the baton of Mrs Johnson, provided musical entertainment of the highest quality accompanied by Mr Roberts on guitar.  An excellent traditional Christmas lunch was prepared by Yinka and the catering team. After lunch we had a game of bingo, always a favourite with our guests. One gentleman commented that he does the rounds of Christmas dinners every year and the Nower Hill High School dinner is the best for food, fun and having a good time by far! Another lady told me that this was her first school dinner in eighty years as during the war food was rationed and no hot food was available at her school.  At the end of the meal, every guest was presented with a Christmas gift provided by the staff of the school.

We received many lovely thank you letters from Milman’s Day Care and Betjamin Close.
