All of year 8 were treated to a BMX experience in school. BMXing is an excellent sport as it improves cycling skills, balance and very importantly self-confidence. Micahel Osborne in Y11 an excellent BMX cyclist helped by demonstrating his ability and leading in lessons. This was a most enjoyable event and many of the students asked could it become a PE option?

The BMX course was lead by Matti Hemmings, a Professional Flatland BMX rider and 3 x Guinness world Record holder. Matti has competed in international competitions, extreme sports events and perform shows at the highest level all over the world.

Matti starred in hit Nickelodeon TV show "Get Your Skills On" as Matti Axel', Breaking Guinness World Records.

Matti was assisted by a brilliant Flatlander, Yinka Thomas. Yinka is currently studying Business management at university and part funds his studies as a BMX athlete, coach and mentor. You can see examples for Matti and Yinka BMXing skills on You- Tube, really worth a look.
