Summer Music Festival

Posted on: 18/07/2019

On the 11th July 2019, the Music Department hosted their second annual Summer Festival, an evening of music, food and fun. Groups of musicians led by both staff of the music department and the peripatetic music teachers entertained audiences of approximately 250 parents, friends and family.

Inside the main hall, audiences were entertained by smaller sections and the vocal groups led by Beth Leighton. As per last year, the lower playground was filled with the sounds of summer with both the African Drumming Ensemble led by Daniel Jekey and the Steel Pans ensemble led by Dexter Joseph. The outside stage by the Gristwood was host to a whole variety of bands, including the ever popular Kitchen Sink, Maple Syrup, Soda Stream and of course the Staff Band.

The Music Department are looking forward to the year ahead with even more concerts, festivals and experiences, enriching the lives of both students and families.
